Some background about NTREIS.COM...

This property was purchased in early 1997 with the intent to continue providing our SERVICE to the local Real Estate organizations via the web. Years prior to this purchase, related proprietary services were provided in "bulletin board" format. With the explosion of the internet, the BB was ported to the internet, known with a different name in 1995, which didn't seem appropriate according to the client and suggested we find a name that more closely reflected our SERVICE. Apparently the crux of the name was well received.

The business possibilities for information distrubition via the internet was great back then. The demand to develop the technologies for these type web sites were high and only a couple were offering it. The cost of development and infrastructure to provide the RE listings far outweighed the income. When new proposals were brought to the table, there was no choice but to abandon a project that had caused much debt and a guaranteed future of more.
